Chapter 1 of this book/CD features health plan records consolidated by parent
organization. In its entirety, this data table contains 1,744 total
enrollment data points for 456 health insurance companies. A total of 267
health insurers had enrollment listed in all five of the years specified.
METHODOLOGY:
Calculated from enrollment data for all types of health plans (commercial,
Medicare, Medicaid, etc.), offered by all U.S. health insurers that sell
fully insured products. Data was compiled from health plan surveys conducted
by AIS researchers, supplemented and verified by state and federal government
data where available, during the fourth quarter of each year indicated, and
originally published in AIS’s Directory of Health
